Hey, I'm Silas Hart 🦌
Recovery advocate, content creator, and your companion in building lasting sobriety habits.
Why This Work Matters to Me
I've seen what pornography addiction does to people. The shame spirals. The broken promises to yourself. The feeling that you're fighting a battle no one else understands.
That's why I built Sobriety Habits—not as another site full of motivational fluff, but as a practical resource for people ready to build real accountability and lasting change.
What's Different Here
I don't claim to have all the answers. What I have is:
- Real experience helping hundreds of people build accountability systems that work
- No judgment—everyone's fighting something, and shame never helped anyone heal
- Practical tools that you can implement today, not someday
- Honest conversation about what recovery actually looks like day-to-day
The Name: Silas Hart
Silas means "of the forest"—a place of both danger and refuge, where things grow in cycles. Hart is a male deer, and they shed and regrow their antlers every single year. That's recovery: cycles of growth, shedding what doesn't serve us, and starting fresh.
Plus, there's something about the biblical Silas—imprisoned for his faith, singing hymns in chains, then walking free when the walls came down. That's the journey from addiction to freedom.
A Note on Privacy
"Silas Hart" isn't my real name. I've chosen to remain anonymous to protect my wife and young children. Kids can be cruel, and I wouldn't want mine to face bullying if their classmates discovered this website. What matters isn't my name, but the message: recovery is possible, and accountability works.
Why I Recommend EverAccountable
I'm an affiliate for EverAccountable because it works. Not because it's perfect, but because accountability changes everything. When you know someone else can see your internet activity, it creates a pause between trigger and action. That pause is where recovery lives.
Yes, I earn a commission when you sign up through my links. That's how I keep this site running and create free content. But I only recommend what I genuinely believe helps.
